FAQ

There are two ways you can participate:

  • Presenting Participants (speakers): At BRAINCOMS, you will be able to present your scientific work (Undergraduate Research).
    • Our abstract submission period will open soon! Once the submission period is open we encourage everyone to send them as soon as possible!
    • Once you have submitted your work and after the payment confirmation of the registration fee, it will undergo valuation from our Scientific Committee and Scientific Coordinators. If approved, you will, from then on, be a BRAINCOMS presenting participant. If not, you will automatically be registered as a listener. Understand our guidelines reading about it at “Programme – OP/Poster – Submission, evaluation and selected oral presentations”.

  • Listeners: If you don’t have a scientific project to present yet, don’t worry. You may attend the conference as a listener. In that case, you will be able to attend everything still, the keynote lectures, as well as workshop activities, poster/oral presentations and last, but not least, social activities!

The registration fee will vary according to the period in which you are applying for it. So, hurry up in order to get better discounts and save more money. You can verify the prices at our registration page.

The scientific committees will evaluate all submitted abstracts that follow the format described above and will elect the ones to be presented at BRAINCOMS based on originality, relevance and impact of the results obtained. The scientific committee is made up of renowned professors from Escola Paulista de Medicina/UNIFESP.

Your project must be about one of the themes below:

  1. Surgery
  2. Preventive Medicine and Behavioral Sciences
  3. Obstetrics and Gynecology
  4. Pediatrics
  5. Basic Sciences
  6. Internal/Clinical Medicine
  7. Volunteer Work and University Extension
  8. Case Reports *In this case, you should point from which area is this kind of case report (for example: Case Report – Pediatrics; Case Report – Internal Medicine).

The accepted abstracts will go for poster presentations. Those projects will undergo further selection and the best 15 abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. From those 15 abstracts, the best 3 will be elected for the solemn presentation. After submitting your work, you may expect an e-mail from the BRAINCOMS Organizing Committee. BRAINCOMS official language is English. We will receive students from all over the world and, to reinforce the internationalization of the conference, all activities (poster/oral presentations, keynote lectures, workshops) will be performed in ENGLISH.

BRAINCOMS is the Brazilian International Congress of Medical Students, a congress where undergraduate medical students, from all over the world, will be able to present their Scientific Projects, attend to lectures, workshops, social activities and last, but not least, parties! All of it is meant to integrate the international student communities. It is a great way of exchanging science and cultural knowledge.

The “EPM welcomes” program is an initiative from Escola Paulista de Medicina’s students

to provide an accommodation for either foreign or brazilian students coming from other

countries/states/cities, who are not willing to spend large amounts of money in hotels and

have no other place to stay. This program allows BRAINCOMS participants to stay in an EPM

student house during the Congress.

For more information, please visit Menu → Practical Info → EPM Welcomes (Hosting

Program).

The submission process applies only to the students that intend to present their papers at the Poster Session or at the Oral Presentation. The registration, on the other hand, refers to registering yourself to attend the congress. As a result, a listener only registers himself, while the speakers register and subscribe at the same time.

BRAINCOMS will happen mainly at the premises of UNIFESP (Universidade Federal de São Paulo – Escola Paulista de Medicina).

The Campus is located at the city of São Paulo, Brazil, more specifically at the neighborhood of Vila Clementino. Our meeting point adress is Rua Pedro de Toledo, 697.

To be eligible for BRAINCOMS, you have to be undergraduate medical student.
