GUIDELINES

ORAL PRESENTATIONS
  • You will have 10 minutes to present your research if you are selected for the Oral Presentation.
  • You will be informed by a staff member when there is just one minute left. Following the presentation, there wil be a 5-minute discussion, led by the evaluating professors.
  • All presentations must be both, WRITTEN AND PRESENTED IN ENGLISH
  • Your presentation should include:

>Title ( including authors and affiliations);

>Introduction (background, purpose or hypothesis);

>Objectives (your motivation for conducting this research);

>Methods (a brief introduction about your methodology);

>Results (a summary of your results);

>Conclusion / Discussion (clearly explanation of the results and their implications);

>Future perspectives (next steps of your project);

References.

  • Your presentation must be saved in PowerPoint format (please remember to save in .ppt and .pptx). We also advise you to bring a PDF format, in case of PowerPoint slideshow doesn’t work
  • We kindly ask you to send us your presentation on the e-mail: braincoms.scientific@gmail.com and also hand your presentation, in both PowerPoint and PDF formats, in USB Flash Drive, at the moment of your registration, in the first day of the Congress (August 13th, Thursday, in the morning).
POSTER
  • We recommend each poster fits the size of 90cm x 120cm in portrait orientation.
  • The poster must be both, WRITTEN AND PRESENTED IN ENGLISH, otherwise it will not be considered.
  • The title and the authors must appear on the top of the poster.
  • We suggest the use of a font size legible from a 2-meter distance.
  • The given time for your poster presentation is limited to 7 minutes. A staff member will notify you when there is only is one minute left. After the presentation, there will be a 3-minute discussion led by the professor responsible for assessing your performance.
  • Make sure your presentation contains: introduction, objectives, methods, results, conclusion, discussion, future prospective and references.
  • At registration, you will be provided with some important instructions regarding your poster location.
SOME TIPS
  • Practice your presentation.
  • Do not exceed the stipulated time.
  • Be clear and objective, use your time wisely.
  • Be visually and orally participative.
  • Check grammar, spelling and layout of each slide.
  • Make sure that each slide is not cluttered with too much visual or writing information.
  • Graphs, tables and charts should be clear and easy to understand.
  • Answer the questions in a calm, non-condescending manner.
  • Be sure that your presentation transmit its fundamental message to your listeners.
